His grandfather, Fazal Qadeem Kundi, served as a member of the West Pakistan Assembly in the 1960s. On his maternal side, Justice (Retd.) Faizullah Khan Kundi was Federal Minister for Establishment and later Chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (1972–1979). His father, Fazal Karim Kundi, served two consecutive terms as Chairman of the District Council of D.I. Throughout his career, he has represented Pakistan at numerous international forums and diplomatic engagements, advocating for public policy reforms and infrastructure development, while championing the rights of underrepresented and vulnerable communities.

As a devoted party leader, he played an instrumental role in introducing internal structural reforms within the PPP to strengthen grassroots political engagement—an initiative endorsed by the party’s top leadership. His political vision has consistently centered around accessibility, public engagement, and inclusive development.

Faisal Karim Kundi has also been a passionate advocate for youth involvement in national development. He served as Patron of both the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) in the National Assembly (2008–2013) and the Youth Parliament. He was an executive member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and chaired the FATA Caucus—comprising MNAs and Senators from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and surrounding regions of KP. Through this role, he championed democratic dialogue, policy reform, and tolerance for diverse perspectives, contributing to meaningful debates in Parliament on key issues affecting the region.
